Why exhibitors look at alternatives

Vista is the best known name in cinema software, and for large circuits it is often the default. Vista Group positions its enterprise product for exhibitors with twenty or more screens and offers Veezi, a separate product, for independent cinemas. Many operators sit between those two worlds, or run more than cinemas: a bowling hall next to the multiplex, a trampoline park in the same mall, concerts on the weekend.

The questions those operators ask are practical. Can one system sell a movie seat, a timed entry and a concert ticket from the same inventory? Does it issue the fiscal invoice the local tax authority requires? How fast does a change reach production, and who answers the phone when it does not work on a Saturday night?

Where Bigger Picture is different

One platform, several venue types

Cinemas, attractions, theatres and events run on the same seat and capacity engine, with one customer record across all of them.

Fiscal compliance per country

Electronic invoicing for the markets we operate in, implemented inside the platform rather than through a separate connector.

Cloud from the start

Multi-tenant on AWS and Kubernetes, so there is no on-premise server to patch at each site and no migration project to reach the cloud.

Open REST API

Ticketing partners, aggregators and your own apps connect through documented APIs to the same live inventory.

Loyalty and marketing included

Memberships, subscriptions, vouchers and campaigns work on the same record as ticketing and concessions, not in a separate product.

Direct access to the team

Offices in Israel, Bulgaria, Mexico and Argentina, with the people who build the product involved in your rollout.

What to compare in a cinema system

Whatever you choose, run the evaluation on your own data. Ask each vendor to configure one of your real sites: your auditoriums and seat maps, your price matrix, your concession menu and your loyalty rules. Then compare the things that decide the next ten years rather than the demo:

Inventory. Is there one seat inventory for web, app, kiosk, box office and partners, or several that synchronise? Customer record. Does a purchase at the bar land on the same profile as the ticket? Compliance. Is the fiscal invoice for your country native or an add-on? Change. How are upgrades delivered, and what did the last one cost an existing client? Exit. Can you export your customer and transaction data in a usable format?

Our cinema management software buyer guide lists eleven questions we recommend asking every vendor, including us.

Moving from another system

A migration is planned site by site. Seat maps, price structures, members and open vouchers are imported before cut-over, and the new system runs in parallel with the old one until the numbers reconcile. Most of the work is in the data and the people, not the software, so the plan starts with training box office and bar staff on their own site.

Frequently asked questions

Is Bigger Picture a replacement for Vista?

Yes. Bigger Picture covers ticketing, concessions, loyalty, corporate sales, back office and reporting for cinema circuits, and the same platform runs attractions and live events.

Is it only for large circuits?

No. The platform is multi-tenant, so a single-site cinema and a regional chain use the same product with different configuration.

Can we keep our members and vouchers when we switch?

Yes. Members, balances and open vouchers are imported before cut-over so customers keep what they already have.

Which countries are supported for fiscal invoicing?

We support electronic invoicing in the countries where we operate in Latin America and in Israel. Talk to us about your market and we will tell you exactly what is in place today.

See it with your own site

We will configure one of your cinemas, with your seat maps and prices, before the demo.
